School leaders play a vital role in shaping our school and are role models for younger students within our community.  They are all elected by their peers and have to go through a recruitment process where they have to justify why they should represent their school.

Our current school leaders for 2016-2017 are:

Head Boy: Liam     Head Girl: Megan

Deputy Head Boy: Kane     Deputy Head Girl: Chloe

Prefects: Tom and Jason

I’m really proud of becoming head boy, I enjoy helping younger students and supporting other classes” Liam – Head Boy

Liam is in Burgerman class and has been at The Iffley Academy for 5 years. He enjoys taekwondo, riding his bike and drama. He has been a mentor for lower school classes and enjoys helping to organise charity events.  This year he is working towards entry level 3 in English and level 1 in Maths. He is hoping to attend a collage open evening before deciding what to do next year.

Megan Marriot 2014

it’s good being on the council because you can put your ideas forward” Megan – Head Girl

Megan is in Kusama class and has been at the Iffley Academy for almost five years.  She is a horse fanatic and has had a lot of success in riding competitions. Megan has recently done really well in Home Cooking lessons and in becoming more independent. She is always willing to help others and take on roles of responsibility.  This year Megan will have passed her Entry Level exams in English, Maths, Science and Humanities. She will also have achieved the Arts Award and BTEC Home Cooking. Megan plans to stay in sixth form next year.

In addition to our school leaders we also have a school council which is made up of a representative from each class. We meet regularly to discuss things that are happening in the school, local community and nationally. It is really important our pupils have a voice and the school council works hard to reflect the opinions of the school community. The school council have been involved in lots of fundraising activities for charities such as Children in Need, Jeans for Genes and Red Nose Day.

Some of their best suggestions to raise money have involved teachers getting wet and dressing up in crazy costumes!
